Meet The Oral Surgeon
Naomi Rahman BA BDentSc DChDent (OS) FFD(RCSI)
Dr. Naomi Rahman is the Specialist Oral Surgeon at Number 16. Dr. Rahman provides treatment of multiple conditions of the teeth, jaws, bone and gums. Procedures such as extraction of wisdom (or other) teeth, biopsy, exposures of unerupted teeth, removal of cysts and tumors, bone grafting and implant therapy. Much of Dr. Rahman’s work is carried out under Intravenous sedation, and she is fully registered with all the major health insurers (including VHI. Aviva, Laya, St Pauls Garda Medical Aid, and the ESB Medical Fund). Dr. Rahman completed her specialist training in Oral surgery in Trinity College Dublin, and is particularly active in the continuing education field, providing hands on courses for dentists regularly. Naomi qualified from Trinity College Dublin in 2004 with an honours degree in Dentistry. She was awarded the entrance exhibitioner award in 1999, and a three year scholarship award in 2000.
Naomi has worked as a house officer in the Dublin Dental School and Hospital, and also in general practice. She was awarded the Membership of the Faculty of Dentistry by the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in 2006. The following year, she undertook a three year Doctorate programme in Oral Surgery in the Dublin Dental School and Hospital. During this time she published numerous articles and has also been invited to speak at dental conferences on surgical related topics.
In 2010 she was awarded a fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in Oral Surgery. She presently teaches part time in the Oral Surgery Department of the the Dublin Dental school and Hospital.
